Will Big Bang really be able to promote six songs simultaneously?

We previously reported that top Hallyu group Big Bang are planning a comeback with a total of six title tracks. This has caused industry insiders to wonder how they will implement such a demanding promotion plan. It also begs the question of how successful they will be with this kind of unprecedented project.

In the past, singers who have had more than one title track has experienced a narrowing down to one main song, depending on the response of the public. For instance, when a comebacks features two or three title songs, the public is quick to determine their favorite track, which causes an automatic shift in promotions towards the popular song.

Big Bang to promote all tracks off mini album

Two days before, YG had revealed through its official blog that Blue and Bad Boy would be promoted as double titles. The day after, however, it added the title track markings to Love Dust and Fantastic Baby, and finally on February 17 it added No Fun and Wing to the title track list, making all of the songs, excluding the intro, title songs for the album.

The words ‘double title songs’ have often been used to mean that two songs would be promoted as the main single cuts from an album, but announcing that all of the tracks from a single album will be promoted as ‘title’ songs is a rare feat not only in Korea, but also overseas.

Why fans are excited for Big Bang's comeback?

At the end of February, another popular idol group, Big Bang will make a come back to the music scene.

Big Bang will release their fifth mini album with a total of 7 songs on the 29th and it will  officially mark  their comeback. As one of the most popular idol groups at the moment, the comeback of Big Bang is extraordinarily meaningful to their fans. 

Ever since their debut in 2006, Big Bang has enjoyed great fame in Korea and abroad but last year, some members had faced controversial issues which brought crisis to their team. While the members were facing this crisis, others had devoted themselves to making music. The songs which they composed during this period of time will also be included in the new mini album after careful selection.

With their comeback right ahead of them, TOP slightly mentioned Big Bang’s future moves and what they have in store for us within this next year.

During a recent interview with High Cut, TOP has stated, “We have a world tour ahead of us and because the schedules have already been filled up for the next year, we will be extremely busy.” He also hinted that, “We have many joyful and surprising news that we cannot reveal just yet.”

Big Bang to use TV Commercials for Comeback Promotions

YG Entertainment has announced that they will be heralding Big Bang‘s grand comeback through TV commercials!

Big Bang has been causing a stir by releasing individual concept photos of each members everyday. Beginning on February 17th, they will be airing TV ads to fulfill a promise made days ago by YG about how Big Bang’s comeback “will be YG Entertainment’s biggest promotion yet.”

TV ads are a huge promotion technique usually used by large corporations, and cost at least a few billion won to produce. Due to the staggering receipts, TV ads have never been thought of for actual use in a singer’s promotions.
