YG Officials, 'Big Bang's new album at it's end stage, comeback at the latest in January'

Male idol group of 5 members, Big Bang are scrambling to finish their preparations for their comeback. On November 17th an official from YG 's agency YG Entertainment stated, "Big Bang is currently finishing thier new album. The album will be available for fans as early as December this year or in January at it 's latest.

Taeyang, TOP, SeungriDaesung and G-Dragon debuted as rookies in 2006 as their skills grew they held concerts all over Korea, then in the second half of 2007 with their big hit "Lie" they emerged as one of the best male idol groups. Since they coined consecutive hits in Korea as well as other parts of asia, the best boy group is a deserved title. In Korea, 2008, "Red Sunset" was the title track to their 2nd album containing new songs, however, since then, no new album has been released.

Taeyang, TOP, Daesung, Seungri and G-Dragon have all caught the attention of fans through solo activities but no new album in the name of Big Bang has been released. Because of Big Bang's announcement of a new Korean album, Korea has turned their attention to them. YG official explained, "Because Big Bang is working on a new album they won 't be attending end of the year ceremonies in Japan," revealing expectations on Big Bang 's new album. Meanwhile, Big Bang will be attending the "2010 YG Family Concert" in Korea, along with Seven, Gummy and 2NE1 on December 4th and 5th.

Confusion on Big Bang's Comeback date!

The photo above was posted in an online community and has quickly spread all over the internet, becoming a hot topic amongst netizens and fans trying to figure out what the significance behind it is.

November 20th 2010, G-DRAGON & T.O.P invites you to the “HIGH HIGH” MV party secret location RSVP only…..

Some claim an MV might be released that date, or that it could be Big Bang’s comeback date, that it’s fake or that it’s an invitation for a party, while others just have no idea what this “High High” MV could possibly mean.
Big Bang’s comeback being pushed back to December can also be a possibility as a news article recently stated that, “한편 태양은 오는 12월 빅뱅 새 앨범으로 활동을 시작한다” “Come December, Taeyang will begin activites for Big Bang’s new album” (ntn)

Ok-bang who?

As the name suggest, OK Bang is the China rip-off of Big Bang. With the China version of SNSD and Thai 2NE1 up in the entertainment industry, I guess I should have expected this coming.

OK Bang, similar to BB, is a 5 member male group. Ok, this to me is absolutely fine, I mean, a 5 member male group can easily be found anywhere and everywhere. What disgusts me is that they are called OK Bang (like WTF?!). Well at least they know their limits by having this name, wondering why I said so? haha… here comes my analysis…
OK- being average, not the best, just acceptable
Bang- obviously just COPIED from Big Bang.
So I guess, this name just reflects the group’s character. Average boy band without any particular distinctive style. So what if they are undergoing Korean style of artist training? If the company wants to impress the public and cynical netizens like myself, make good use of this particular style of training, use it on your artist and come up with something ORIGINAL. Copying the success of YG’s Big Bang will not help much but will instead BACK FIRE and see what is happening now? Your artistes are being criticized as copy cats. Well, Im not going to wollap these innocent boys all the way, I admit that the have better than average dancing skill, so why not make use of this talent and give them a brand new direction. (well, they make good back up dancers. hehe.)
With that said, I m anticipating to watch their MV. heee….
Here’s a little comparison chart.
Who can beat our… Jiyong in talent and fashion sense, T.O.P in his killer stare and over the top charisma, Dae Sungie in is sunshine smile, goofy-ness and amazing voice, Yong Bae in his sleek, smooth dancing style and voice, as well as magnae Seung Ri in his instant switch between cuteness and manly-ness? haha… wow. I didnt know I could come up with that…
Wondering who is who in OK Bang? Check out the original post on Seoulbeats. Credits to them, jknews, kmib.co.kr, Newsen!

Big Bang: Legitimate Artists and not just another Hallyu act

Male group Big Bang has successfully differentiated themselves from many Korean artists debuting in Japan by relying on their raw talents alone. Consequently, many believe that the group is leading the new wave of male Hallyu stars because they have firmly established themselves as legitimate artists in Japan.
The group performed at the “Seoul Tokyo Music Festival” on November 3rd, held at the Saitama Super Arena. The festival was created to celebrate SBS’s 20th anniversary, and was a collaboration effort with Japan’s TBS.
Over 16,000 fans in their teens and 20’s gathered to see the performances by Korean artists, but Big Bang’s stage managed to garner the hottest response.
A representative of the festival verified Big Bang’s popularity by stating, “The ‘Seoul Tokyo Music Festival’ was very much like a personal ‘Big Bang Concert.‘” While other artists performed 2-3 tracks at most, Big Bang sang a total of five.
Their success can be seen in other areas as well.
Their ‘Big Show Big Bang Live Concert 2010‘ DVD sold 15,000 copies in the first week of its release, and ranked first in the weekly charts for music DVDs. Its predecessor, the ‘2009 Big Bang Live Concert Big Show‘ DVD, also achieved similar results. Additionally, the group’s first official photo book, ‘Big Bang Presents Electric Love Tour 2010,’ locked down a #1 position on Oricon’s photo book ranking.
When we consider their musical achievements, Big Bang’s debut single last year ranked third place on the ‘Oricon Daily Chart’, while their latest Japanese single, “Beautiful Hangover“, ranked at fifth place on the day of its release. Indeed, all of Big Bang’s Japanese releases landed in the ‘top five’ category.
Big Bang never received a rookie award in Korea, but received one in Japan on May 29th at Tokyo’s “MTV World Stage Video Music Awards Japan,” winning a total of three crowns.
A representative of their Japanese marketing team commented, “Big Bang have been promoting themselves not as Hallyu stars, but as artists. Their strength comes from their high quality, highly talented performances. They’ve never lived in Japan but consistently promoted for at least a week for each of their album releases. The response from their Japanese fans are so amazing, that even we’re surprised.
Big Bang will be returning to Korea with their participation in “2010 YG Family Concert” on December 4th and 5th.
