It has been revealed that Big Bang‘s new album is enjoying explosive popularity in Taiwan and is #1 on Taiwan’s album charts.
According to Taiwan’s online music sales site books.com, Big Bang’s mini album ‘ALIVE‘ is #1 on the Asia album sales chart.
On Taiwan’s online chart rankings, it seems that ‘ALIVE,’ released in 6 different versions, is doing extremely well. The #1 spot is taken by the “Big Bang version,” followed by “T.O.P. version” at #2, “G-Dragon version” and “Seungri version” at #5 and #7, respectively, and “Taeyang version” and “Daesung version” coming in at #11 and #13, respectively. With four versions in the top 10 and all six versions in the top 20, the group’s international popularity is evidenced once again.
Also, G-Dragon’s imported Korean version of the album is ranking at #18, setting a remarkable record as both his Korean and Taiwan versions are ranked within the Top 20.
Big Bang, who has yet to visit or tour Taiwan, caught people’s attention for taking the #1 spot on 13 different charts last year, and they are continuing to prove their immense popularity with this feat.
Big Bang has already overwhelmed the online and offline music charts of South Korea, and even made it to the #7 spot on the U.S. iTunes chart. Additionally, the MV for “Blue” received millions of views in a short period of time, proving Big Bang’s popularity overseas and cementing their status as global K-Pop representatives.
Big Bang completed the first concert of their 16 country-25 city world tour in Seoul last weekend, and plans to promote through various broadcast appearances starting with the ‘Big Bang Comeback Show‘ on March 9th, in addition to shows like ‘Inkigayo‘ and ‘Running Man.’
