Big Bang‧2NE1 coming to Malaysia on June 4th

2011 the Korean wave will continue to sweep through Malaysia, Kpop fans be prepared to be busy for the whole year! Following an earlier report by "Sin Chew Entertainment" that Halo Music will bring Big Bang and Se7en to Malaysia this year to meet the fans, 2NE1 will be making their way to Malaysia too.

According to sources, Big Bang and 2NE1 have finalized to come to Malaysia on June 4th where the 5 member group Big Bang and 4 member group 2NE1 will also collaborate to hold a large-scale fan meeting at Bukit Jalil Putra Stadium. It is reported that earlier this year, Jang Geun Suk has released notice through its website on the launching of "Jang Geun Suk 2011 Asia Tour" and has announced schedules for various countries, organizer HS Media has confirmed the tour for Malaysia to be on June 4th. However presently the performing venue and ticket price for Jang Geun Suk Asia Tour Malaysia stop have not been decided yet.

Now that Redstar who is hosting Big Bang and 2NE1's fan meeting has announced the performing venue and date except for the ticket price, it is not known if there will be any last minute changes to the performances, but if both groups (Jang Geun Suk as well as Big Bang & 2NE1) come to Malaysia to carry out the activities as scheduled, the Kpop fans will certainly be very busy, having to choose between the two.

Redstar's partner Marctensia is also collecting comments from fans about Big Bang, 2AM and miss A coming to Malaysia on its facebook. It is believed that as long as the response is good, the KPOP concert in plan will come true

How will KBS and MBC deal with Big Bang’s comeback?

Fans are wondering if Big Bang will appear on KBS’s ‘Music Bank’ and MBC’s ‘Show Music Core’ for their comeback stage, as YG Entertainment artists have been currently avoiding KBS and MBC shows. It’s been especially difficult to spot 2NE1 and Big Bang on either of those two music programs.
It’s disappointing,” said YGE. The agency called their ‘negative relationship’ with MBC and KBS “a base-less rumor” and asserted, “YG artists will appear on MBC and KBS shows when a good opportunity arises.”
Yet SBS will host Big Bang’s first comeback stage on February 27th by airing a one-hour ‘Big Bang Comeback Show Special’. This is making KBS and MBC particularly nervous because Big Bang’s comeback is being lauded as this year’s hottest event, and so a high viewership rating is guaranteed for SBS.
Rumor has it that SBS will not only host a one-hour special show (its first since Seo Tae Ji’s comeback a few years back), but they also promised the best performance stage. It’s been said that SBS has promised a shocking investment for Big Bang’s comeback stage, which includes the best audio system to a fancy stage construction.
Missing out on Big Bang’s comeback could be especially disappointing to MBC and KBS because Big Bang plans to release numerous albums this year, and will even pick up their activities in Japan.
Although YG Entertainment has asserted that they will perform for MBC and KBS eventually, fans will just have to wait and see as to whether or not Big Bang will perform on the stages of “Music Bank” and “Show Music Core” when they return.

Big Bang's ice cream, "Hallyu" advancing into the food sector

Hallyu (Korean wave) is now advancing into the food sector in Japan. Korean stars who endorse food products seem to have also captured the taste of Japanese consumers.

The ice cream brand, which BIGBANG endorsed last year from November to December, has received great popularity. The products were initially only planned to be sold online as a "special edition" but after selling over 10,000 in just a month (to be exact, 22 days), the company decided to also offer them in their offline store.

A staff from Marvelous Cream said, "This 5-piece ice cream cake set costs ¥ 2,300 (31,000 won). Even though it is a bit expensive, it was still a big hit to our customers."

Big Bang's glorious return to Korea with a new mini-album

Starting today (19th), BIGBANG's movie, "Big Show 2010 in 3D" will be showing in Japanese theaters and soon, they will be releasing their new mini album after a long break in Korea.

The group has been focusing on their Japanese activities after they finished promoting their album, Remember, in 2008. It has been announced recently that they will be restarting their activities in Korea for 2011 and will be releasing new songs this coming February 24. Originally, the group was supposed to release a full album but probably due to the members' busy engagement with their solo activities, they will be releasing a mini-album instead.

The title of their new mini-album has not been announced yet but it will consist of 6 songs, including the intro and "Tonight", their title song. Moreover, Korean versions of their Japanese songs, "Hands Up" and "Somebody to Love", are also included.

BIGBANG's leader, G-Dragon, has said before that they have collaborated with international producers but have denied that one of them is Will.I.Am, who worked with fellow YG Family members, 2NE1. G-Dragon said, "You will be surprised once you listen to our album. We will show a more mature side of us so please look forward to it."

The track list for their upcoming mini-album has been released but it didn't include unexpected collaborations with other writers and composers. G-Dragon explained, "There are plans to create another album."

In the interview conducted by BMR with GD&TOP to be published in our March issue, G-Dragon said that BIGBANG's music is different from that of GD&TOP's.

BIGBANG also went to America to shoot their music video, which attracted a lot of attention. They will also have a 1-and-a-half hour special comeback program that will be broadcasted on SBS.

Moreover, the Japanese edition of GD&TOP's album will be released on the 23rd of this month. The Japanese edition will have an original package design together with a DVD consisting of their music videos. The album includes the collaboration of GD&TOP with Diplo, who recently took part in Beyonce's new song. G-Dragon also talked about working with Diplo in the March issue of BMR.
