Taeyang and 2NE1 nominated for the “2011 Korean Music Awards”

On January 25th, the selection committee members for the2011 Korean Music Awardsheld a press conference to reveal the nominations for their awards ceremony.
The awards ceremony was created with the intent to treat pop musicians as artists, not as entertainers; consequently, this award focused more on their achievements instead of their sales. There are a total of 25 different categories, and nominations were made by a selection committee.

Their report shows that 2NE1’s “Can’t Nobody” and f(x)’s “Nu ABO” were nominated for the Best Dance & Electronic Song category.

Taeyang’s “Solar” album and his “I Need a Girl” single were both nominated for ‘Best R&B and Soul’ album and song categories respectively.

Panelist Kim Chang Nam commented, “We did not differentiate between mainstream and non-mainstream. All songs and albums were tested under the standards by 60 different members on the committee. We tried our best in combining the musical tastes and judging standards in our nominee decisions.”

The awards ceremony will be held on February 23rd.

Seungri seeked Mun Hee Jun and Son Ho Young for advice

There are a lot of people who will want to drag you down from that place. I hope that those things that happened to us won’t happen again’. This was the advice that Bigbang’s member Seungri heard from Mun Hee Jun, the ex member of HOT, and Son Ho Young, the ex member of GOD.

Mun Hee Jun and Son Ho Young have gotten through the disappointment of not being able to continue their activities with their past group that used to have very big popularity, and now they’re giving Seungri advice to make him realize Bigbang’s values. Not only that, the concern of disbanding that might happen to Kara because of their contract issues with the company can be an example too.

Seungri was interviewed by SPN on last January 14th in the filming set of his new solo album’s title song MV, VVIP. Seungri said that after he got out from MBC Happy Sunday ‘Enjoy Today’ on October last year, he started the preparation for his solo album and Bigbang’s album, and when he got the time he’ll meet with his seniors to receive advice about entertainment activities.
Seungri told us that “The seniors said, ‘although we want to go back to that place again but we can’t’”. Mun Hee Jun and Son Ho Young are now over 30 years old. Their words perhaps mean that now they’re too old to do singing while dancing just like what they’ve done before in their group. But practically it can also mean that it’s impossible for a disbanded group to reunite again and do activities together.

Seungri also said that his sunbaes told him that ‘you can’t stay in the same place like where you are now forever’. It contains a message that after years passed Bigbang’s popularity will also change and this team won’t last forever, so you should focus in your present activities now as Bigbang.

Seungri explained the reason why he wants to meet them, “I want to be a more mature man, so I seek the seniors to hear their advices,” he said.

Jang Hyun Seung and Seungri reconcile "Who will cook the barbecued meat now?"

The relationship between Beast’s Hyunseung and Big Bang’s Seungri has been confirmed through a photo.

During filming of the MBC Idol Athletics Championships on the 24th of January, Hyunseung posted a photo on his Yozm page.

Hyunseung took a close photo with Seungri showing the V sign. The photo was posted with a message : ‘This is the kind of relationship we have ^^ In future Seungri will cook the barbecued meat.’ The post received a lot of attention due to the fact that although Hyunseung was now a member of BEAST, he used to be a part of Big Bang, and TOP had recently revealed that Hyunseung and Seungri had once fought.

On the 10th January episode of SBS’s Every Night, TOP revealed a startling situation. During Big Bang’s trainee days, Hyunseung and Seungri had argued over a situation involving barbecued meat that resulted in a fight, which later became a hot topic of discussion. Noonas who saw the photo left messages, ” Really cute”, “Don’t fight anymore, eat well together.” and ” The two of you should happily cook barbecued meat together. “

Seungri and Big Bang mention on Engadget

LG G-Slate spotted in Korean music video, 3D cameras and all?
Oh LG, did you really think you could slip an entire tablet past the eagle-eyed gadget obsessives of Korea? The G-Slate has been one of the more mysterious devices launched at CES this year, but it now appears to have shaken off some of its shyness and made a cameo appearance on K-Pop star Seungri's latest music vid.

Our Korean correspondents (Engadget Korea) inform us that Seungri's band Big Bang has had a relationship with LG since the introduction of the cheap and cheerful Lollipop handset (video evidence after the break), so it's not unreasonable to believe this young chap has an inside line on LG's upcoming hardware. His video shows an LG-branded slate at 0.53 and 1.52, and although we get only brief glimpses, one of them suggests a dual-camera array on the back, which seemingly corroborates earlier rumors of the G-Slate bringing some 3D voodoo to the market. Skip the break and see for yourself.

Big Bang's Seungri on Brazilian TV

Translation: Justin Bieber and Justin Timberlake are important names of the actual pop music and serve as reference for many people. Even for a South Korean singer. "Somebody To Love" is still on the radio, in Justin Bieber's voices. The forgotten "Sexy Back" from another Justin was the start of everything. The two singers already got the top place in the music rankings, but they will stay back after this, because Seungri is the man.

Member of the boyband Big Bang, the South Korean singer made a new MV. He has the same music style of Justin Bieber, Usher and Timberlake. We found some similarities with Usher, Timberlake and Bieber. Seungri doesn't talk about his references. "VVIP" is already in the online music charts, it's a hit on the Korean radios and prepares his way in America. Justin Bieber and Justin Timberlake should be careful!"
