Taeyang praised for his music and fashion on radio shows
Yoon Do Hyun and Lee Sae Joon of Yurisangja
YDH: Taeyang’s LOAM is playing. How did Taeyang become a bad guy?
LSJ: This song’s premise is bad – “even if i cheat, don’t cheat”. When I first listened to the song, I questioned my ears how can these lyrics come out? After hearing the whole song, it unraveled well. (He meant that the song doesn’t seem so bad/evil/mean, even with the lyrics.) I was impressed and jealous of how he was able to fit “even if i cheat, don’t cheat on me” into the song. I personally like Taeyang’s voice color and singing style. If I was 15 years younger, I think that I would have tried and practiced to sing like him.
YDH: Even though Taeyang is a young friend, a lot of musicians recognize him.
LSJ: In an event, someone requested me to sing it and I did. (See video here.) So I became dubbed more of a bad man than Taeyang….
YDH: LSJ played some of his songs, the response was so so. But when he started singing Taeyang’s song, the response was Wow. It was really like the sun was rising….
Woo Jong Won and Lee Soo Young
Creative fashion director Woo Jong Won recently complimented Taeyang on his fashion sense on Lee Soo Young’s music show. According to WJW, he likes Taeyang’s fashion and he thinks Taeyang has a good mix of rock/ wild hip hop.
LSY: Though, his height isn’t [tall] he expresses fashion well
WJW: I don’t know about height, but I think about my complexes when I dress and how to hide my flaws. I don’t think Taeyang thinks about it. I think he dresses thinking about his music and about how to express himself. He expresses himself with confidence. Rather than mixing many colors, he picks one color to express the music and matches accordingly with accessories, dance, and eye (stare). If it’s like that even Hollywood stars can learn. You mentioned that he is short , but I’ve never thought that he was short.
WJW goes on to say that it’s probably because YB knows what works for him. LSY observed that even his every day fashion is good and WJW agrees. He says that he often meets YB at shopping centers and checks out what YB is looking at. “When he comes out of the fitting room trying on clothes, he is more fashionable/cool in every day fashion than on stage.”
WJW: And personally, his expression when he sings – his rhythm, and the lyrics are very good.
LSY: He is a singer that expresses the lyrics (one by one) well.
(Looks like Taeyang is getting a lot of points recently for his style choices. I wonder what WJW had to say about YB’s taste in bags… Hmmmm)

T.O.P's Interview on Kono Eiga Ga Sugoi Magazine Japan
Direct interview about the most popular artist who debut as an actor in a movie, Choi Seunghyun aka T.O.P from Big Bang
Not only T.O.P is in a great and popular group Big Bang, but he also challenged to be an actor, Choi Seunghyun. His first movie was made in public with no problems. Different from seeing him as an artist, we will report his new side to you directly.
After watching the movie, we hope to catch the current happiness. Now, of course in both Korea and Japan, Big Bang’s T.O.P. is known as a rapper and Choi Seunghyun as an actor. His first movie, “71: Into The Fire”, was awarded at the Korean Academy Awards, and he was awarded to be the Best Rookie Actor at the Blue Dragon Film Awards. The movie, “71: Into The Fire”, is a human drama based on a real story about student soldiers, who were inspired by their mothers’ letters which happened during the Korean War.
Q: Getting high reputation in the drama, “IRIS”, why does Seunghyun wanted to debut in a movie?
TOP: In fact, when I tried to do my screen debut, I had many candidate scripts to choose. This script is so special. This is the most emotional one amongst the other scripts I had read and I thought it was worth challenging for me since I was in the generation who knew little about the Korean War. That’s why I chose this. The generation, who knew little about the war, will feel happy living in such a peaceful era and want to catch today’s happiness when watching it. I think that if I, who is in the generation that knows little about the war, play a role in the movie, may attract people who has the same feeling, come to watch it. We treat the military service as our duty. That’s no doubt. So does the time when Jaebeom lived. If the war happened now, maybe I would go to the war front like him. Of course it is best that it won’t happen.
Q: When he played as JaeBeom, he exhausted and researched the information about the war. Therefore, he understood the war and the military service deeply.
TOP: Although I have already knew some information about the Korea War from my parents and grandparents, after researching, I got to know how painful the war was. When I decided to play the movie, what I knew about the Korean War is all from the textbooks. In order to challenge it better, I tried my best to search the information to expand my awareness of the war before started shooting. Otherwise, I could not do this. Through this, I learnt much about the cruel facts. I can’t even imagine how this 17-year-old guy could go through this. The picture of those student solders is the reason why I can act the boy successfully. Though they look so young in the picture, we can see them with deep thoughts….Let people think they are mature. They are so different from when I was a 17 year old. Their expressions infected me and finally, I can act JaeBeom well. Since it is hard to imagine being someone different from me, that was the hardest part of my work.
Q: To act as JaeBeom, his experience is not the all-above. This time, they shot the most intense war scenes.
TOP: There weren’t that much NGs because we wanted to make it look like the real battle. From there, I can see the skillful acting from my seniors. Previously, I have worked with the seniors and was moved by Kwon Sang Woo. Not only his acting, but also his private life. He called his family frequently. His emphasis on family values makes me feel he is the “perfect male”. And I have come to think that “marriage is not bad” for the first time. (laugh) Previously, I didn’t think about marriage. I felt it was strange. It’s necessary to have a girlfriend now, but I want to do a lot of things before getting married. Eh, having a late marriage may be also good. (laugh)

T.O.P's Interview on Haru Hana Magazine Japan
"If you analyze my personality, I think I’m more like the serious type, not the bright and cheerful type. But when I read this movie’s scenario, I started to think since this story is about someone in his teens, shouldn’t he spend his time like the teens would do? Understanding the hurtful story, agony and emptiness because of war, I start to think how lucky we are to live in this time. I hope that my appearance will make the young generations interested in this film, I can share the happiness I felt with them and I also want to pass the message for them to ‘live with more passion’."
"It’s hard to describe this with words, but I think it’s pretty similar with my sensitive side which I've never shown to anyone. Moreover, Jangbeom is the type that always thinks and worries about everything, and he also write letters for his mother in his hometown. Because I always write what I feel down as a lyrics, I feel that Jangbeom’s personality is kind of similar with me. But because I didn’t live in the war era, I had to read a lot of materials about that era and also looked at the soldiers photo in order to understand Jangbeom’s state of mind. Of course I collected a lot of information for that, but I put a lot of efforts in the emotional parts so I can be closer to my role."
"Of course I use make up to make my face looked darker, but because the colors made using alcohol, it hurts when you apply it. Because we filmed it in winter, everyone’s going through a lot of hardships, not only physically but also mentally. At that time Bigbang was having a Japanese Tour, so at that time every day I keep switching back and forth from the cheerful concert stage to the harsh and cruel war scene. But because I had fallen for Jangbeom, I keep fearing when there will be an explosion, the lonely feeling because the separation with family, seems like those feelings still left inside me until now."
"Because usually I only play with guy and when there’s a female actress I’ll be very shy, but now I already forget about that (smiled). Because the seniors are always treating me nicely, every day we eat together or drink together, of course it becomes a great memory. But since people there, including Sangwoo hyung already have their families, when I see them calling home for the first time I feel like I want to get married too. Not because I think I’m still unsettled now, but I think that to make your own family and settled down is a cool thing. I still enjoying my work now so I still don’t have plan to get married yet (laughs) but I think by having this kind of thought I already grow a bit."

Seungri seeked Mun Hee Jun and Son Ho Young for advice
‘There are a lot of people who will want to drag you down from that place. I hope that those things that happened to us won’t happen again’. This was the advice that Bigbang’s member Seungri heard from Mun Hee Jun, the ex member of HOT, and Son Ho Young, the ex member of GOD.
Mun Hee Jun and Son Ho Young have gotten through the disappointment of not being able to continue their activities with their past group that used to have very big popularity, and now they’re giving Seungri advice to make him realize Bigbang’s values. Not only that, the concern of disbanding that might happen to Kara because of their contract issues with the company can be an example too.
Seungri was interviewed by SPN on last January 14th in the filming set of his new solo album’s title song MV, VVIP. Seungri said that after he got out from MBC Happy Sunday ‘Enjoy Today’ on October last year, he started the preparation for his solo album and Bigbang’s album, and when he got the time he’ll meet with his seniors to receive advice about entertainment activities.
Seungri told us that “The seniors said, ‘although we want to go back to that place again but we can’t’”. Mun Hee Jun and Son Ho Young are now over 30 years old. Their words perhaps mean that now they’re too old to do singing while dancing just like what they’ve done before in their group. But practically it can also mean that it’s impossible for a disbanded group to reunite again and do activities together.
Seungri also said that his sunbaes told him that ‘you can’t stay in the same place like where you are now forever’. It contains a message that after years passed Bigbang’s popularity will also change and this team won’t last forever, so you should focus in your present activities now as Bigbang.
Seungri explained the reason why he wants to meet them, “I want to be a more mature man, so I seek the seniors to hear their advices,” he said.
